As the President Yeltsin rounded up his visit to Italy, Gazprom, Russia’s national gas company,
signed a $2 billion contract with the Italian energy group ENI.

While President Yeltsin’s visit to Italy was nearing its end, the $2 billion contract between the
Russian gas company Gazprom and the Italian energy group ENI was finally signed.
