You are walking along your street. Some kids are playing football in the road. One of them kicks the football directly at you. Although you manage to get out of the way, you’re annoyed because this is not the first time this has happened, and so you threaten:

I wish you kids would go and play in the park, where it's safer.

We didn't use to play football in the street when I was younger.

Please don’t do that - that ball could really hurt someone.

The next time that ball comes near me, you won't see it again.

Be careful with that ball! I'm not a goal post, you know.
