After years of training, Jan works as a free-lance book binder. She enjoys her job, but though she works hard, she makes very little money. One day a neighbour comes by and asks her to rebind an old book, obviously with no intention of paying. Offended that anyone would be so inconsiderate as to ask her to work for free, she says to her, quite angrily:

Of course. When would you like it?

Well, I'm afraid I'm a little busy this week. Would next week do?

Would you try to get out of paying a doctor or a lawyer who happened to be a neighbour?

What an interesting old book? Where did you get it?

I'm really glad I started doing this job. It's one of the most interesting things I have ever done.
