You are an English teacher and, twice a
week, you give private lessons in your
flat. Your neighbour has a habit of playing
her music loudly enough for you to hear.
The only time this disturbs you is when
you are teaching. You don't wish to be
rude, but feel you must say something so
you go to see her. You say to her:

Could you possibly play your music
more quietly, please? I can hear it
in my flat.

Would it be possible for you to turn
your music down on Tuesday and
Thursday afternoons, please?

I don't object to your listening to
loud music occasionally, but I'd
rather it wasn't every day.

There'll be some students at my flat
tomorrow. Would you mind not
playing your music just for that
one day?

Turn that music off! My students
are finding it impossible to
concentrate and so am I.
