I went to my home town for the first time in
twenty years and saw that it hadn't changed
a bit.

I last visited my home town two decades
ago, and I think of it as not having changed
since then.

In the twenty years since I left it
permanently, my home town hadn't really
been altered very much.

While bits of it had changed, my home
town looked much as it had when I last
saw it twenty years earlier.

Though it had been two decades since my
last visit, I observed no alterations in my
home town.

During my first visit to my home town in
twenty years, I was shocked at how little
remained unchanged.
