Whenever you see an old film, even one made
as little as ten years ago, you cannot help being
struck by the appearance of the women taking
part. Their clothes, hair-styles and make-up all
look dated . ..….. . There is nothing about their
appearance to suggest that they belong to an
entirely different age.

Even the way they speak can often
seem unnatural to us

You begin to wonder whether you're
supposed to appreciate their acting
or their dress-sense

The men in the film, on the other
hand, are clearly recognisable

Yet for many, it is these reminders
of the past which make such films
so watchable

We then recall,-with embarrassment,
how we used to dress in the
very same styles
