You learn that a close colleague of yours in the Economics Department has been
nominated for the Nobel Prize in economics. You feel thrilled for him and call him immediately
to congratulate him. He tells you that he doesn’t expect to receive the prize because there will,
almost certainly, be other candidates better than him. Thereupon, to encourage him, you say:
