(I) Archeological evidence has shown that the earliest libraries were built by the Sumerians.
(II) All libraries are classified to facilitate reference, and the favourite system is the Dewey
Decimal System, which divides the whole field of knowledge into ten main classes. (III) These
are General Works, Philosophy, Religion, Sociology, Philology, Natural Science, Useful Arts,
Literature, and History. (IV) Each of these main classes is again subdivided into ten main
